AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Most of us keep a pooja temple at home. What is the logic behind it🤨?

Though the Divine dwells in all beings and everywhere, His Presence is covered by a web of light and shadow woven by our ignorant thoughts and feelings and actions. It is only a rare yogi or saint who has awakened to the Divine Presence within and hence has a free access to the Divine Power and Guidance from within. For many or rather most, the Divine, though present everywhere including within us, is not easily accessible. Our actions and way of life rather covers the Divine Presence as a thick smoke covers the underlying fire.

Knowing this practical difficulty in contacting the Divine and receiving the true Guidance to govern our life, Indian Religion made a provision of creating certain special places in the community as well as in the house which one can specifically dedicate to God and invoke His Presence.  If done with sincerity and regularity, the Divine Presence in whatever aspect or through whatever medium it is invoked gets eventually established in that place. It then becomes easier to contact the Divine provided one keeps the sanctity of the place. One can even dedicate the whole house to the Divine and make the house a place filled with divine vibrations. Then all who enter there find peace and solace, feel relieved and supported, helped and guided and protected in the journey of life by the benevolent Divine Presence that has been invoked and installed in that space.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

I am unable to understand this said by The Mother. Please explain to me: “You must use everything for the purpose for which it is given, otherwise you commit a crime. I am not speaking merely of physical things. All the inner things that I am giving you all the time, all the strength, light, energy and life that are being poured into you all the time, are meant for the service of the Divine, for the sake of transforming you. If you use them for any other purpose, you are a robber and your crime is the worst possible.” ~ The Mother (CWM 13:183)

It means that all the capacities that we have, – physical, vital, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, should be offered at the Feet of the Divine for His Work and Service. Most of the time however we take these capacities to be …
