AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

How should one begin to Live Within? When I am engaged with the outside world, then where shall I focus in myself while doing it? πŸ˜Šβ€οΈβ€πŸ”₯πŸͺ·

While engaged in various kinds of activities, your focus should be in the heart, in the center, on the Mother’s Presence. You could visualise her as a radiant form of the image or photograph with which you feel most connected or which comes naturally to you and let the works flow from there. Develop a certain inner detachment from the world, even while you are engaged with it, so that you don’t get affected by people and circumstances. Step back for a moment before you rush into speaking and avoid engaging in all kinds of chatter and gossip, especially animated discussions.Β

In your dealings with people, be kind and gentle, full of goodwill for all, but do not try to please others or indulge in self-flattery. Do whatever you have to do with quiet sincerity, offering it to the Mother and leaving the results entirely in Her hands.Β

When there is a spare moment, try to remember Her inwardly and ask for Peace, faith, devotion, equanimity and the growth of aspiration that are the pillars of the Yoga. Surrender all seemingly pleasant and painful, apparently good and bad events at Her Feet.

In short, whatever you may be doing, never forget the Goal before you and rely on the Mother and Her Grace for everything.Β

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Alok da, it’s been like two-three years since I got an introduction to Savitri, and discourses upon it by M P Pandit, yours and others. I intuitively knew – this is a text that I should be carrying like an inner recitation throughout my life from now on, but still I came to postponing and delaying totally getting into it all this time. πŸ˜ŠπŸ™πŸ»πŸŒ»πŸ“–[…]

Reading Savitri everyday is itself a Yoga. If you can do this with quietude and inner concentration, a page a day or more, contemplate upon it or simply let the lines and words reverberate within its sound and words seeping into …
