AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Alok da, it’s been like two-three years since I got an introduction to Savitri, and discourses upon it by M P Pandit, yours and others. I intuitively knew – this is a text that I should be carrying like an inner recitation throughout my life from now on, but still I came to postponing and delaying totally getting into it all this time. 😊🙏🏻🌻📖[…]

It’s like as if the scenario Sri Aurobindo paints in the small poem – the dream boat, when the man on the boat invites for the voyage but somehow his heart shudders at losing all that he has cherished and clung to up until that point of his life and finally today, for nearly over an hour in the morning, I’ve read and recited only the first page of Savitri and every word of it is already acting like an inner compass over my single breath and step, making me not forgetful of the Mother, of the Supramental Adventure and purpose of the Cosmos, of my purpose on this Planet and this is an Experience that I Haven’t really had in my entire life.

My only apprehension and fear is: what are the things that I should be so vigilant of to not really fall into the old ways and strengthen this inner voice of Savitri, so that it becomes my sole guide and companion every day for the rest of my years and life? How do I make every single line reach into my nerves and cells?

Reading Savitri every day is itself a Yoga. If you can do this with quietude and inner concentration, a page a day or more, contemplate upon it or simply let the lines and words reverberate within its sound and words seeping into your inner being, then nothing more is needed.

Try to remember the Mother inwardly as often as you can and offer all you do to Her. This is the only other practice needed. All the rest will develop with time.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Listening to your talks, I wonder if humanity’s current psychological turmoil stems from the pressure of the Supramental descent forcing hostile vital forces to cling more desperately to earth—much like Arjuna’s Visada Yoga at the start of his transformation. 🤔🌍🫨🌾[…]

If one were to summarise it in one sentence then one can say, in the deepest mystic sense, that the world has forgotten the Divine and suffers because of that. Instead, the average human being has not only turned away…

Thank you so much for your beautiful and profound response explaining the difference between liberation (Mukti) and higher spiritual states. Your spiritual insight is truly wonderful. It will depend upon the mantra as well as the wish, desire or aspiration, as it may be, in the heart of the sadhak. There are mantras that do grant material happiness as well as wisdom. So it is perfectly possible to get these benefits through specific mantras. At the …

Respected Alok da, when you realised Maa is everything and in everything. Then, if you go for Puja Rituals like Brata-Upabasha according to Hindu Dharma (you see Mother in every Gods), then is that insincerity to Maa? Should I do it or not? 🙄🙏🏻👨🏻‍👩🏻‍👧🏻‍👦🏻🛕🌸

As far as I am concerned everything else dropped naturally, effortlessly. I was anyways not much into rituals and knew that many of these things are aadambar and have little to do with Hindu Dharma. Neither the Gita nor the…
