AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER

How not to form bad habits?

Asked by 12 year old

First of all we should watch over our thoughts. Whatever we think often we tend to do it. What we do we tend to repeat it. Once we repeat it we are going to make it a habit and these habits become our character.

It is important to lay down the foundations of good thoughts and habits at an early age.

This is done by reading good books, stories that inspire and, above all by being careful of the company one keeps.

Books and friends have a great influence upon us and hence we should carefully choose them.

So too it is important to keep a good and peaceful atmosphere in the house. Peace, harmony, love, charity and generosity draw positive forces and create a helpful atmosphere whereas quarrels, disharmony, indulgence in wrong habits lead to a negative atmosphere in which wrong movements and wrong habits find fertile grounds.

Affectionately,

Alok da.
