AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I got the ‘Call’ for Yoga in the darkest phase of my Life, out of nowhere. As I started reading about Sri Aurobindo and the Mother, a firm conviction has developed in me that this is the Path I have to choose, not out of despair, but from a strong urge and conviction. ❀️‍πŸ”₯πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒ·[…]

Sometimes I also feel someone has enforced this Yoga on me. Subsequently, I started offering all my actions gradually to the Mother and trying to surrender to Her. I am also trying to follow other methods as suggested by you in your videos.

My question to you, sir, – why this ‘Call’ came to me in the darkest period of my Life? Is there any significance to this? Who are the people who get the ‘Call’? Among them, who are the people who respond to the ‘Call’, and what is the Mother’s role in this?Β

The call is not based on the external merits or capacities of our outer nature but on something deeper and inmost that the Divine Grace sees and knows. It may pass by the righteous and virtuous man while suddenly picking up Ratnakar, the dacoit, and transforming him into a Valmiki.Β

As to why it comes sometimes during periods of darkness, it is because when things are going fine, we often remain busy with the outer world and hence do not hear the call or, having heard, heed it not. But when all our outer supports are lost, then man intuitively or rather instinctively turns or opens to the Divine and in those who are ready, they receive the Call.Β

Affectionately,

Alok Da
