AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Many times we see a person with mediocre talent and efforts get success (sometimes unprecedented) quickly and others with much better abilities and hard work keep on struggling to get their rightful dues. What could be the reasons for this disparity🤨? Could deity worship and performing some specific rituals influence the outcome?

We feel a sense of injustice because we assume that outer success is some kind of a reward that God should give for good deeds. But that is not how God sees things. The reward of goodness is the growth of the forcs of goodness in us. This goodness strengthens our ethical sense and gives us inner peace and joy. On the other hand gaining success through devious means takes away from us inner peace and joy. It cuts us off from our true self and we wander far from our true goal. Initially we may not recognise that we are deviating but sooner or later we become deficient in natural joy and then run around throwing money to buy happiness.

But one can find success through proper means without resorting to devious methods. But for this we should study our nature, our strength and weaknesses and the basic temperament. The work we take should be aligned to our fundamental temperament and suited to our capacities. Best is to do your work as service to the Divine and for this start offering the work inwardly to God (through any Deity), pray for success, and at the end say a prayer of gratitude at the completion of the work and at the end of the day. Slowly you will see the difference.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
