I told him that I genuinely like going there, but he still doesn’t understand or accept it😠.

Obviously he is limited by his own conceptions and, like most people, shut in the bubble of his own understanding. May be you should not press this on him and equally let him not press his views upon you. Grow together on the basis of love and mutual respect supporting each other’s unique journey even if it be in different directions for now.
