AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Alok Da, when we find ourselves caught in a series of situations which are not so pleasant and not a result of our actions, but we have to face them, during such situations, what do we do to stay calm and peaceful? How do we call upon Her force to act? Please guide 🌺🙏

The first thing to practice is stepping back. It is to take a step back from the situation by an inward movement. Instead of engaging with it through the sense-mind and the ego-self, instead of appraising it through the desire-self, one first calls peace and offers the whole thing to the Mother. Then one relooks at it and tries to understand it in terms of its relative importance to one’s own seeking. Most often one would see it is a very small thing, a transient wave arising momentarily during a journey that goes far far beyond. Then one simply smiles, offers it to Her again and goes about fulfilling the role assigned to oneself dedicating the work to Her with nishkama bhava.

One can also see why one is finding it unpleasant, look into the points of attachments to certain results or expectations or frustration of desire or not according to one’s own idea of how things should be and detach oneself from these, grow conscious and offer these things to Her asking for Light so as to see clearly and act forcefully. She will surely help.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

This is a narrative which if taken to its logical conclusion would mean no more roads, no more revamping of cities, no more highways, no more Dams, no more airports, industries because all of these require some kind of sacrifice of the environment. …
