AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

We know of so many people who are facing impossible situations and problems and they are helpless. They do not know what to do or whom to ask.

This is a dedicated site for those who are searching for answers, who want to break from their present repeating circles of life and looking for answers that will understand them, help them find a new way-a new solution towards life beautiful and Divine.

Some people believe that what Sri Aurobindo and the Mother have said is nothing unique — they feel that all spiritual paths are essentially the same and only the words are different. They casually say, ‘Whether you hold the ear from this side or that, it’s the same thing.’ They form such opinions after merely reading a few pages of Sri Aurobindo’s writings and then give their verdict. What would you say to such people🫤?

Ask them only one question. Where do they find anything other than individual Nirvana as a goal? Besides, leave alone Sri Aurobindo, even within the

If the universe of time and space as we see it fluctuated out of spaceless, timeless void of unmanifest potentiality, once this happened does this unmanifest void have a role in the becomings and happenings of the universe or is it just there as quality less state without any interaction with happenings of the world🌏 like a certain view of nirvana suggests? Cos Sri Aurobindo talks about how things which perish are thrown back into unmanifest and reappear later in new forms and combinations and how things old and new are fashioned in these depths suggest that this void which is supposedly devoid of any qualities and movement is still interacting with the world in it’s dynamic becoming. So is this origin ever present and active or has no role whatsoever after once the universe came out of this void like some mokshavadins or nirvanists say?

If we accept the view of Sanatana Dharma as well as Sri Aurobindo’s own experience, this seeming Void, teeming with possibilities is very much present

I went for a healing Ayurvedic retreat. Here, we have yoga classes with a lot of pranayama practices🧘. Some involve more basic pranayama practices, whereas others involve kapal bhati and mula bandha, etc. I don’t really know much about these practices, but I heard that there are some dangers associated with pranayama. Is it better to avoid attending some of these classes and instead focus on more basic practices?

Pranayama, like any other technique or method is best done under an expert except for the basic practice of Nadi Shuddhi. Pranayama, especially Kapala Bhati

Could it be that there is no longer mandatory military service and life became too comfortable? How to reverse this trend on an individual level? What are the practical steps and decisions?

As far as emotions are concerned women are (and always were) generally stronger than men. Social pressures have only further strengthened them. In fact the

Why this happens ? when you deeply long for certain things—whether it’s a relationship or something else in life—you desire it with all your heart, but you also want it now. You feel restless, thinking, what’s the point if I get it after a few years or in old age? I need it now, I crave it desperately now, I don’t want it later😪.

It is the usual way that the vital desire and the ego-self operates. It thinks only about oneself and the want, like in a state

Alok da, sometimes I feel that nature is holding me captive consciously. Sometimes the touch of God is felt in the entire consciousness, sometimes without any reason doubt and the absence of devotion is felt. Earlier this stage seemed to be the most depressed but now I don’t feel any difference. All of them have coming and are going on their own. I detach myself from this activities. Still I feel pain due to this unconscious spontaneous activities. There is a feeling in my heart that I too should worship my mother like Ramkrishna, Ramprasad etc had done but now everything is going in reverse. Still, I feel something inside that stay for some time and let mother do her work. In this state, how can I reveal the devotion and dedication that I was expressing earlier? How to face this situation in right attitude😥?

This Yoga is different from the bhakti Yoga practiced by Ramprasad and Chaitanya. It is a relatively slower but more complete process. Because it involves
