AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

This is a question from my mother. After listening to your talk about the Mother’s Aspects in Savitri, she wanted to know about Ashta LakshmiΒ and what they represent. Also, what was their role as the eight wives of Sri Krishna? What is the difference between their love and Radha’s love for Sri Krishna? πŸ‘°πŸΌπŸ¦šπŸ˜ŠπŸ™πŸ»πŸŒ·

The eight wives of Sri Krishna are the eight aspects of Nature-forces or Nature-energies from the subconscient, earthly to the higher heavenly kind. By wedding to their Lord, these nature forces find their right balance within as well as with each other.

Radha is not the energy or power of Nature. She is Supernature, the Shakti of Sri Krishna himself. She is the Lord’s eternal spouse and knowing herself as such, she has no need of being wedded. They are one in the Divine Love. Or to put it in another way, Krishna is the Divine Ananda self rapt in infinite Beatitude. Radha is the same Ananda turned towards creation as Divine Love and the manifold forms of Beauty that express Sri Krishna’s delight in and through creation. She shows the way as to how this creation, which has become ugly and chaotic, having turned away from the Divine Origin, becomes beautiful again, through perfect and complete surrender to the Divine in each and every detail as an act of Love. This is what Radha symbolises.Β

Affectionately,

Alok Da
