A peaceful life is one that is independent of the environment. It is a life lived no more for the satisfaction of desires or for the ego-self but for the Divine, for fulfilling the Divine Will in us. If we do that, then we will be peaceful even on the battlefield. Otherwise, we can only find a semblance of peace or conditional peace by setting aside a time to withdraw from the outer conditions and try to come in contact with the Divine through meditation and quiet contemplation. But this is obviously a limited peace dependent upon certain practices. The Yoga of the Gita gives us the perfect solution.Β
Affectionately,
Alok Da
