From a purely logical point of view, the body is destined to evolve further. Physically, we cannot say that it is the most evolved or most adaptable body. Therefore, it is bound to evolve into a higher and higher body type that can adapt and assimilate more effectively. The spiritual part of man is evolving and has even entered in an accelerated in an accelerated mode, especially during the last few decades. So the body and mind of man both have to evolve to adapt and integrate these spiritual energies so that they become normal and natural.
It will possibly start with the brain opening new centres for intuition, awakening new possibilities and capacities, making the phenomenon of genius and child prodigies more common. The life energy will open new channels, making the nervous system extremely sensitive to outside impacts but also drawing energy easily from all around. It will reduce the need for food greatly. The adaptive process may give rise to abnormal manifestations as well, which may be regarded as illness, but it will be simply an adaptation to the spiritual consciousness. The secondary sexual characteristics will change and ‘impotence’ with diminished sexual urge after this phase of exhaustion of sexual tendencies will appear.
New capacities within the body would appear, such as the power to heal most diseases, as well as the intuitive sense that would choose food and all else without the rational knowledge. It will be a spiritualised body, similar in form to the present human, but with evolved capacities capable of absorbing radiation and other things and transmuting them.
Out of this spiritual body, a yet higher divine body, a perfect body would evolve, is bound to evolve. Since the Divine is hidden in matter, the Divine Consciousness is bound to emerge one day, evolving a new body more befitting the Divine wearer in the course of time. It will have divine qualities such as luminosity, plasticity, spontaneous immunity, and freedom from ageing and degeneration.
There are a few mystics who did predict this. Sri Aurobindo and the Mother not only foresaw it but actually prepared the whole background and foreground for this evolution next. Personally, it always felt as something inbuilt in the very logic of evolution. Evolution cannot stop with man. The dreams of man will be the reality of tomorrow and what seems supernatural today will be tomorrow’s natural and the new normal.
