AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER

When I listen to your speeches or read Sri Aurobindo, I often get emotional and my eyes automatically well up. Why did this happen to me? πŸ₯ΉπŸ™πŸ»πŸŒ·β€οΈβ€πŸ”₯[…]

Secondly, in the book ‘Evening Talks with Sri Aurobindo’ (pg. 510), in the last line, it is written that: “Man grows by gradual growth in Nature and each has to realize his own Divine Person which is in the Supermind.” My question is whether the Divine Person is within the Supermind or the Supermind itself is the Divine Person?

The tears are, of course, tears of bhakti, tears of longing and joy as the soul feels the touch of The Divine Mother and recognises Her.Β

There is only One Divine Person, but in the Supermind the One differentiates Itself into many individual divine centre, the original Jivatma, the central being. Each such Divine Centre looks at itself and creation in a unique way. Each of these Jivatma sends a portion of itself into the cycle of birth and death. Going through the adventure of Time and Space, birth and death, each must realise its full Divine possibility that already exists as a seed in the Supermind. It is these multiple centres of the Divine that Sri Aurobindo is referring to as one’s own unique Divine Person. It is, however, quite likely that there might have been an error in transcribing what Sri Aurobindo exactly said, as the Evening Talks were never corrected by Sri Aurobindo. Perhaps Sri Aurobindo might have said one’s own aspect of the Divine Person or Divine Personality.Β

Affectionately,

Alok Da
