AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

What is transformation according to The Mother and Sri Aurobindo? What are the process and difficulties of transformation😇?

Transformation implies a complete and radical change of the human into the Divine.

This change implies the following main steps and stages. First the genuine call for this yoga, meaning thereby an aspiration and a faith in Sri Aurobindo and the Mother and their teachings. It implies a sincere will to go through the yoga right upto the end. The process is turning the consciousness towards the Divine thrpugh aspiration, consecration of all we are and do to the Divine Mother through the practice of ‘Remember and Offer’ and all our actions in a spirit of service to Her. The first thing to be established is Peace and Equanimity and the first milestone is discovery of the soul or the psychic being within.

Then the pressure of the aspiration and the Mother’s Grace purifies the nature, liberates the consciousness, and opens the doors to the higher spiritual consciousness above the mind as well as widens it into the cosmic consciousness. The result is a series of experiences and the opening of faculties of inspiration, revelation, intuition.

Finally there is the action of the Divine Supramental Force that begins to modify the human personality and our present natural instruments, that is to say, the mind, heart, life and body transmuting them slowly into flawless and perfect channels and vessels of the Divine Force and Peace and Light and Love and Bliss.

As a result of this, the body itself begins to yield its rigidity and begins to be remoulded slowly into a divine body. This last step is however a collective process meant to eventually build a new species, a divine superhuman race just as man evolved out of the Ape. It is still in the making but the indicators are already on the way.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

In one of his letters, Sri Aurobindo says that the mistakes of Thought, Speech, or Action should be kept away and considered something superficial that the Power and Light will deal with and remove. But in ‘The Mother’ book, he specifically says to reject the lower movements. Then, what is the difference between the movement of Aspiration and Rejection? 📖🤔🌷✨

It is always best to have the exact quote from Sri Aurobindo. He is very precise with words. Secondly, he has covered each subject from different angles of vision which when read in totality make a complete whole.

Lets take what he writes in the first chapter of The Mother. It is a letter written to a disciple. Here he is giving us a complete overview of the working of the Divine Grace in response to the human aspiration. What he emphasises…

There is this Theme of Fate and Destiny that Sri Aurobindo explores throughout his Writings and Poetry, and he has this Aphorism: “God’s laughter is sometimes very coarse and unfit for polite ears; He is not satisfied with being Molière, He must needs also be Aristophanes and Rabelais”. 🗺️🌄🦚😅🙏🏻🌷[…]

Fate is a complex play of forces, both individual and collective. Regional and national or what we may say collective destinies are far more complex than individual. They also follow long curves of Time. Imagine, for example what the Hindus must have gone through the centuries from 1500 till just about a century ago, facing …

Dear Alok da, “When you are conscious of the whole world at the same time, then you can become conscious of the Divine.” Every time I come across this New Year Message of the Mother, I am always puzzled. What does it mean ‘To be Conscious of the Whole World’ and how to become Conscious of the whole World at the same time? 🌍😯🌷🌼

By whole world is not meant all the details of the outer events happening all the time though that too can be known.

Becoming conscious of the whole world means to enter into the universal consciousness in which it is possible to know all that needs to be known simply by an act of concentration in that direction. This state is called as the….
