AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Grandpa, my Uncle’s son, died 3 years ago, and I have dreams about him at night. I’m sitting in his house, and suddenly he appears. Seeing him, I wonder where he came from, but I don’t want to make him feel bad by saying he’s dead, so I talk to him normally, asking him where he’s been lately. πŸ‘¦πŸΌπŸ¦‹πŸŒ„βœ¨[…]

Then, while we’re talking, we go to a field where he goes to the toilet. My mother and grandmother were in a nearby house, and I was wondering if they could see him or not. Then my mother needed to throw away some trash, and I told her to throw it in the stream flowing through the field. Then I come back to my house, and he comes there too and starts talking to me about money. I tell him, “You’re dead, what’s the value of this money to you? It won’t be of any use to you.” I was also a little scared, so I was praying to my mother (Goddess), but he kept following me and started telling me some things that I don’t remember. Then we go inside the house where my mother and aunt were cleaning the house, and he comes and sits there. Then he gives me some balm and leaves.

Some part of your cousin brother still seems to be roaming in the vital world. He is seeking shelter in you. You must send him away. Did his parents do the prayers and rituals needed after death? Pray to the Divine Mother to help him pass away. If you have a photograph of him, keep it with a picture of the Divine Mother. There is a need to give away his personal things and belongings, which may be one reason for attracting him.Β

Affectionately,

Alok Da

In one of his letters, Sri Aurobindo says that the mistakes of Thought, Speech, or Action should be kept away and considered something superficial that the Power and Light will deal with and remove. But in ‘The Mother’ book, he specifically says to reject the lower movements. Then, what is the difference between the movement of Aspiration and Rejection? πŸ“–πŸ€”πŸŒ·βœ¨

It is always best to have the exact quote from Sri Aurobindo. He is very precise with words. Secondly, he has covered each subject from different angles of vision which when read in totality make a complete whole.Β

Lets take what he writes in the first chapter of The Mother. It is a letter written to a disciple. Here he is giving us a complete overview of the working of the Divine Grace in response to the human aspiration. What he emphasises…

There is this Theme of Fate and Destiny that Sri Aurobindo explores throughout his Writings and Poetry, and he has this Aphorism: “God’s laughter is sometimes very coarse and unfit for polite ears; He is not satisfied with being MoliΓ¨re, He must needs also be Aristophanes and Rabelais”. πŸ—ΊοΈπŸŒ„πŸ¦šπŸ˜…πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒ·[…]

Fate is a complex play of forces, both individual and collective. Regional and national or what we may say collective destinies are far more complex than individual. They also follow long curves of Time. Imagine, for example what the Hindus must have gone through the centuries from 1500 till just about a century ago, facing …

Dear Alok da, “When you are conscious of the whole world at the same time, then you can become conscious of the Divine.” Every time I come across this New Year Message of the Mother, I am always puzzled. What does it mean ‘To be Conscious of the Whole World’ and how to become Conscious of the whole World at the same time? 🌍😯🌷🌼

By whole world is not meant all the details of the outer events happening all the time though that too can be known.Β

Becoming conscious of the whole world means to enter into the universal consciousness in which it is possible to know all that needs to be known simply by an act of concentration in that direction. This state is called as the….
