There are several planes of creation refered to as lokas in Indian spiritual and occult literature.
They are all derived from the One Sacchidananda and depend upon Him.
There are the four higher worlds named Satloka, the world of pure Existence, Chidghanloka, the world of pure Consciousness, Tapoloka or the world of pure Force and, Anandaloka or the world of pure Bliss. Since Force is implied in Consciousness it is generally taken as one world manifesting in two beings. The beings and powers governing these worlds are correspondingly Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva and Krishna.
Passing through the Supramental, the Vigyaanmaya loka, the world of pure Knowledge, they get differentiated and move towards the lower creation which consists of the worlds of Mind, manomaya loka, worlds of life, pranamaya loka, worlds of matter or our material world, annamaya loka.
The celestial beings in the Purans largely belong to these higher Mind worlds (the devas) and the lower vital worlds (asuras and rakshasas). There is also reference to the worlds of god Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva but not in the original splendour but as reflected below the Supramental and at the apex of our present terrestrial creation.
You will find some talks on auromaa on the planes of consciousness and of course talks on Savitri, mainly Book Two describing these in some detail.
Affectionately,
Alok Da
