AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

If effort is turned outward to conquer life, there is danger of losing God.. means.. towards what should be the effort to be with God?🕉️♾️👁️🪷

Here he is only setting the different pieces together. He will himself show the path as you proceed. In essence it is to turn our entire life and all its activities into a means to unite with the Divine. It means not to have a divided existence.

In practice it means to start with works as karmayoga which is how the Synthesis starts. If done sincerely this should naturally lead to inner liberation. Of course it is the karma yoga that includes a discerning knowledge as its base and love and surrender to the Divine Mother as its core. The first practice is to build the foundation of peace and equanimity in all one does. If one does it sincerely then at some point the karmayoga of the Gita will begin to turn into the yoga of supramental transformation. The key to this process is best described in Sri Aurobindo’s little but power-packed book ‘The Mother’.

The other key practice is ‘Remember and offer’. Remember The Mother inwardly as often as you can and offer all you do, even the seemingly most trivial to The Mother.

Other than this keep some time apart for reading Sri Aurobindo and The Mother.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
