AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Most monks of Sanatana Dharma, when they say “Advaita,” refer to Union with the formless Brahman. But I feel something is missing in this Union. In scripture, I feel they equate Brahman, Bhagavan and Paramatma. πŸ•‰οΈπŸ§˜πŸ“œπŸš©πŸ¦[…]

I will take only Brahman and Bhagavan here.

If A = B and B = C, then A = C.

But when a normal person attains realization:

Person = Brahman-hood.

However, Person != Bhagavan.

I mean to say, they don’t automatically understand why the universe was created or how karma works.

So, what is missing in the union with Brahman? What happens when one unites with Bhagavan? I feel LOVE is the highest thing to achieve. In order for LOVE to be manifested at the highest degree, there must be union. If I can’t get “one” with God, how would I know what She really wants? I may give Her apples when She is desiring mangoes because of some emotional intensity. Is this thinking correct?

It is quite along the correct lines. Vedanta is limited to the two Purushas, whereas the Gita brings in additionally the third Purusha or the Purushottama.Β

Yes, love is the master-key and union with the Divine in all His aspects, samagram maam, is the ultimate goal. We can call it by any name or no name, but a blank Nothingness, a negation of creation and even ourselves leaves a big gap in our total understanding. It is a Divine fulfilment of creation, the individual and the universal, that is the key.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
