AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I watched a movie named DHURANDHAR, because of many positive reviews from people amongst the followers of Sri Aurobindo. I felt a kind of trust in their words. The tone of the movie felt very intense, and the whole movie gave me a reminder of what you have said about the dance of Kali Mata, for the protection of Dharma. πŸ•‰οΈπŸŽ¬[…]

My question is, can movie like this be seen through the lens of Spirituality? Please shed some light on it.

Every movie can be seen through the lens of an all-inclusive spiritual vision. Such a seeing understands the forces at work behind (as you mention). It also puts everything in its right place and just measures. After all, the greatest of all epics, the Mahabharata, is about the dance of Kali destroying a civilisation that had deviated far from its true purpose, and the Gita does describe the grand vision of Sri Krishna in one of his terrible moods as Time the destroyer.Β

Affectionately,

Alok Da

What is the symbolism behind the puranic story of Rudra chasing Surya with his trident, when Surya defeated the demon Vidyunmali who was a devotee of Rudra, and subsequently felling down of Surya to Kashi?πŸ”±βš‘πŸ”₯

This is an alternate version which is clearly suspect. The original story is clearly symbolic of the triple forces of Nature, Sattwa, Rajas and Tamas, the three chariots of three asura brothers, notably of gold, silver and iron. The three modes of nature are never aligned. If and when aligned, the Asuras die and the Self is liberated. To do that …

In Book 2 Canto 10, Section 4 (68) ‘The Kingdoms and Godheads of Little Mind’, Sri Aurobindo talks about dwarf three-bodied trinity. Are they Thought, Desire and Reason? Is it right? If wrong then which are they?πŸ•ŠοΈπŸ“œβœ’οΈ

The dwarf triple bodied trinity are the three levels at which the present human mind operates. They are, in evolutionary sequence, the physical, vital and the mental mind or the mind proper.Β

The physical mind is heavily dependent upon the senses and the raw data they provide. It trusts only that which can be seen and measured. Then there is the vital mind that takes flights of imagination, thereby escaping from the ‘sensory reality’ in search of that which is hidden. It is the mind that fantasises, and in the process, might hit…

I have a very problem since childhood and still persist. I start something in a very enthusiastic after resolution but drops it in few weeks or months either because of priorities or lack of interest or insincerity. Its both in case of ordinary & spiritual life. For example I plan to paint or read spiritual books or do some certification etc. How to fix this problem?πŸŒ…πŸ†•πŸŒ±πŸ“…

This is because the vital is unsteady. Practice equanimity, apply reason to control the vital from jumping from one thing to another, above all, call Peace and Calm to fix this not so uncommon difficulty.
