AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I had a question about wish fulfilling temples in India. There are many temples in India famous for their capacity to fulfill wishes of their so called devotees for example Tirupati Balaji, Sai Baba of Shirdi, Lalbag Ganesh from Mumbai. Many rich and poor people visit these places and receive whatever they desire. But are these places even Divine in nature? πŸ›•β›©οΈπŸŒ πŸ€

or they appear to me to be possessed by Vital beings who grant petty boons to people in return for some offering. Because Sri Aurobindo writes in Savitri that Heaven’s wiser love reject’s the mortal’s prayer and he also states that even Overmind gods work to execute the Divine plan and are not interested in making limited human beings happy. What is the truth of these places? If I look inside me personally I never felt anything Divine there.

No God or gods can grant all wishes to each and everyone almost to the demand. Not only will this disturb the cosmic balance but also be counter evolutionary. In fact given the contradictory things we all ask it would be impossible to do that. It is often the force and intensity of one’s desires that sometimes brings apparently favourable results whose deeper consequences one suffers later. But the average human being is impatient and lacks surrender. His faith is entirely transactional and his god generally a vital being indulging his desires but only to capture the soul and make him the captive of this transactional game.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Everyone has truth and love within them, why should I cover it up with a scared imitation of the actual thing? I think I am not yet that open to Mother and Sri Aurobindo.βœ¨πŸŒˆπŸ’“β™ΎοΈ
