AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I am tempted to ask this question to You. What is Your opinion on Mahavatar Babaji? He has been present on this planet for such a long time, as per so many books and records of many Yogis.πŸ”οΈ πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈ βœ¨πŸ‘£

In recent times, one of Babaji’s direct disciples is Sri M (Sri Mumtaz Ali Khan), who is still alive and has also visited Auroville for talks and walks. Are you aware of Him?

Mahavatar Babaji is often described in a youthful way, yet His age is often said to be more than thousands of years or even ageless. Also, many Avatars have come and gone (shed Their physical bodies), yet Babaji is still around and will go once the Earth has gone through this transition phase or manvantara. Do You think Babaji is aiming towards a Supramental body of the future?

Yes I am very much aware of Mahavatara Baba ji through Sri Paramhans Yoganand ji’s famous book ‘Aurobiography of a yogi’. There are number of accounts of his miracles and initiations which seem quite authentic. But this phenomenon of yogis staying in luminous realms and manifesting themselves from time to time is well known. There is supposed to be a subtle space somewhere around the Himalayas called as Gyanganj where some of the ancient yogis including from the Vedic Age who have shed their bodies dwell. These yogis do come in contact with the earthly beings from time to time and help to the extent they can the forward march of humanity. There are four example the well known  Chiranjeevis such as Sugriva, Hanuman ji, Parashuram, Vibhisana, Markandeya. There have been number of citations of yogis from the past making visitations to seekers in the present including Sri Ramakrishna, Swami Vivekanda, Lord Rama and especially Sri Krishna to various yogis and gurus including Sri Aurobindo. I have myself had contact with certain yogis of the past.

But all this does not solve the problem of earthly life nor reveals its true significance let alone the future. The young body of Mahavatar Baba ji is the vital body in which he has established himself. There is no hint of physical transformation or earthly destiny or a glorious future and permanent Satyuga. That is why none of this attracted me beyond understanding these phenomenon from the point of yogic knowledge.

To me these examples confirm that yogis can continue to exist in their subtle bodies after death and help as well as influence earthly life which is no small thing. But there is a difference between this and the New Creation and the New Body spoken of by Sri Aurobindo and The Mother. But that would require a detailed discussion.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

I have desire and fear that covered up the small aspiration to love, and that is why I feel this has happened. But this is not the truth deeper within anybody, and I want to have beautiful feelings and thoughts and to love spontaneously. Everyone has truth and love within them, why should I cover it up with a scared imitation of the actual thing? I think I am not yet that open to Mother and Sri Aurobindo.βœ¨πŸŒˆπŸ’“β™ΎοΈ
