AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

After we discussed a few days ago, I started chanting the “Om Namoh Shivay” Mantra, using the Mala that I had put on the Samadhi when I was there last time. Then I came across some info (I don’t know how info, right or wrong, comes across YouTube University, when you are thinking about it). Anyway, it said that one should not chant the mantra as it is, but drop ‘OM’ from it, as it takes you to very high knowledge. 🕉️🔥[…]

I kept chanting the whole (Om Namah Shivay) Mantra as I had never heard this before. I pictured Sri Aurobindo, and I had these waves and tingling all over my body! It kept and still keeps happening when I picture him while chanting.

The day before yesterday, I got up middle of the night to use the bathroom and saw – imagine a picture frame, inside the frame, all around it was dark black all around, right in the middle, there was a big square that had black but twinkling light. I got so scared, I turned around, I wanted to drink water, but I couldn’t even do that, and just got into bed and stayed there. The next day, I thought I was chanting Lord Shankara’s Mantra, so I should have just gone and faced it. Now I am not sure about that anymore. What was that, and what should I have done?

It was a beautiful experience. The darkness was the prelude to the emergence of the true light, a sign that you were proceeding on the right path. But fear stepped in and spoiled what was growing.

Never mind, get back to the practice and wait for the next revelation, when you are inwardly ready.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

The children born to those who believe in the yoga of shri maa and shri aurobindo and practice this yoda are considered to be fortunate. I have heard that children born after 1956 are born a new  consciousness .The child of this seeker I am talking  about was born after 1956 and  why is it that the children of such a seeker not only do not have faith in shri maa and shri aurobindo but also harbor aversion towards Sri maa and Sri Aurobindo ?

There is no such absolute rule. It is a general statement that the Mother made that the children born after 1960 are different. In Her conversation She didn’t mention children of devotees. The phrase ‘especially to devotees’ is in Udar da’s recount. Besides the word devotee is very loosely used. Most ‘devotees’ have a religous belief and a …
