AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I have recently started my residency in MS opthalmology. My schedule runs from 7am to 11pm with two 36 hours shifts each week. Throughout the day I am constantly surrounded by seniors and immersed in work and we are not allowed to leave the wards during working hours. I get no time for meditation or reading books of Maa and Sri Aurobindo or even some time to sit in silence. How to do this Sadhana through work when hospital feels like a jail and certain seniors like jailors?๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ๐Ÿ“ฟ๐Ÿ“–

I keep Mother’s blessing packet in my Apron but I am not able to connect with Maa and Sri Aurobindo the way I used to while at home.

How to turn inward in this condition?? How to only be conscious of Mother’s presence and nothing else ??

I completely understand having gone through it in my own way. What you should do is to first change the motive of your studies. Take this attitude that you are getting trained in the field of Opthalmology to be a good instrument of the Divine and serve Him through the science and art of healing the eye.

Try to go deeper into the subject in terms of appreciating the way the Divine Mother has worked in forming the eye. In fact the evolution of the eye as an organ is a very fascinating subject which takes us to the doorsteps of the Divine Wisdom working in creation.

Inwardly practice the joy of Remembering and offering all to the Divine, every outer and inner experience including the difficulties.

Practice equanimity towards the various challenges so that you grow inwardly strong to do Her Work.

Read one little passage a day anytime you can. Best would be a prayer from the Prayers and Meditations as well as few lines from Savitri.

Take the Mother’s Name inwardly as often as you can.

It is the struggle that most people of the new generation feel. The simplest way to deal with these things is to stay focused on your goal and not try to change people, however significant or close they may be in your life. To try changing others or to expect them to….

Namastey Alok Da, I was reading some predictions related to Pakistan and China by Mother and Sri Aurobindo on the website, Was the Mother referring to a future event that is yet to manifest, or was this vision specific to that time period and did not occur due to divine intervention or a change in the working of forces? Is there any future possibility where China might invade India?๐Ÿชท๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŒ๐Ÿฎ

She was referring to a possibility, a possibility that was strong at that moment as well remains a risk for the future. Sri Aurobindo also said that they are very restless and saw the threat of Red China invading India through Tibet. As long as the Communist party …

I have been living away from home for almost 9 years for my studies, and currently study in a foreign country. I usually donโ€™t get much lonely and even if I, I get comfortable on remembering the Mother. But for sometime, I am getting too emotional on festivals such as today, which usually results in a fever and impacts my work. How should I deal with it?๐Ÿก๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅบ๐Ÿงธโ˜•

It is most likely the result of home-sickness arising out of loneliness. Certain circumstances and situations are typically associated in the mind with home or the place where one grew up. They remind us of the fact of being …
