AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I strongly believe that nothing happens without a reason. Sir, Please I really request you to tell what kind of karma have I done in my previous births to have so much mental pain๐Ÿ˜“?

In this life itself we can often see the sprouts of suffering though the seeds may have been cast in previous lives. Whatever it be the corrective has to be done now. Knowing the reason in previous life hardly helps.

Whether the cause of suffering is due to karma in previous lives or in certain actions in this life the general reason for it is ignorance. Ignorance compels us to deviate from the light and the right and brings, as a consequence, suffering and pain. The suffering and pain serve as a reminder and a call for course correction. Often however instead of changing ourselves so that the root cause of our suffering can be removed for good we keep continuing habitually on the path that deviates from the truth of our being and only end up hurting ourselves more and more. Even worse we keep passing the blame to others and by complaining and revolting even against God we end up shutting the doors to the Grace

The remedy does not lie in finding the faults done in the past life but in the wrong patterns and attitudes that we chose in this life itself. After all we cannot go back into another life and change it but we can surely change this one. And if we do that we shall find ourselves always supported by the Grace. And precisely because it is we who chose the road, even though in ignorance or weakness or to escape from some difficulty or just an attraction to devious pleasures and a selfish life, it is we who have to do something about it. And then Help comes in various ways. But if we refuse to budge and continue the deviant course then we become not only the authors of our pain but responsible for its continuation.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

It is a beautiful aspiration. Nourish it by taking The Mother’s Name within you. Nurture it by regular study of Sri Aurobindo and The Motherโ€™s Words. Do all you do in the spirit of nishkama karma and practice equanimity in the face of all outward disturbances. Offer all you do to the Divine Mother. That is the main thing required. The …

Dear Sir, Namaste. I had a dream in which I was sightseeing in Ayodhya. It was totally different from the real city in every aspect. There were very large temples and monuments, some of which I remember were statues of a horse, a peacock, and an open court of a king; these were stone structures as tall as the Eiffel Tower. ๐Ÿ’ญ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ›•๐Ÿฆท๐ŸŒ„[…]
