AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Dear Sir, Tobacco, I know you have said in your talks that it must be avoided (my guess, something to do with lower vitals). I have been an on-and-off recurring Tobacco addict for about a decade (30 years old). In the past, for different reasons, I stopped, but again I relapsed; this cycle continued. There were struggles, guilt, shame, etc. But, last night something happened. 🚬😣🌃❤️‍🔥🌻 [….]

While I was watching a short clip of Ramanand Sagar’s Sri Krishna, there was a scene where Sri Krishna was talking to that Sage who was about to curse him for letting the War happen and Sri Krishna was revealing Himself to him. I got emotional, tears flowed, unsteady breath, the usual emotional things happened, my inner heart opened, and for nanoseconds, it seemed that I got immersed in Sri Krishna.

Then the Mother’s image came. Then, after a while, things got normal. But, during the event, I was chewing Tobacco, meaning it was in my mouth. When the normal state came, I felt a guilt that I was using Tobacco during this Beautiful Event and from that moment, I decided that I must avoid Tobacco completely. Yet, I felt weak before my addiction, then I started slowly walking around the room, finding the mental ways and means to quit it completely, but I felt the weakness.

Suddenly, a Thought manifested itself in the form of a Beautiful Inner Voice, but the Voice was not the usual one in which I think; it was different, it was a Man’s voice, Soft but Firm, Gentle but holding a Power Within. It said exactly this in Hindi: “क्या तुम डिवाइन के लिए भी नहीं छोड़ सकते ?”, and I absorbed it. I decided then and there that I have to do nothing with Tobacco, since then I have not used Tobacco, yet I am still vigilant and watching the Inner state, and yes, stirs of addiction still comes time to time but I ignore it with indifference. I am feeling now that addiction is gone. But it was not my effort. What happened, Alok da, it just poof… gone… and I am an addiction-free guy.

What happened is indeed the Divine Mother’s Grace, for whom nothing is impossible. It is a clear sign that She is with you, watching over you, and leading you towards your true destiny.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Alok da, this might be a bit of a tough question for me to articulate, but I’ll try asking. Going through a bit of the Mother’s Works, I find a persistent theme in which She stresses the importance of Organizing One’s Mind, One’s Cognition, and Cerebral Capacity. And I’ve always been fascinated by how the mind of a good poet or a novelist works. ✒️🎶🤔🌻✨[…]

The Mother has already explained this in her essay on Education (CWM 12) where she speaks of five main things to develop by persistent practice. These are mainly as follows….
