AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

If we ourselves determine where we are to be born, then why would one descend from the Human realm to a lower form of Existence? Is it correct to believe that the Human form is the Highest form of Existence? If those who depart are indeed the very ones who return, then how and why is the Population continuing to grow?🐦‍🔥☀️🌥️

1) Do we decide where we will be born?

It is true only for fully developed souls that can choose their parents and outer circumstances. But these souls do not choose comfort and a pleasurable life. Rather, they often choose to bear the greater burden and help earth and mankind, as we see in the lives of all the great conscious beings. The urge for personal safety and comfort is transcended in higher beings with the urge to save and help. A developed soul is fully conscious of the Divine and hence inwardly free and fearless.

There is no return from human birth to lower ones except in very rare instances of serious transgressions sliding to the animal for a purifying birth. This is only a popular misconception, not supported by authentic scriptures.

2) Is it true that human birth is the highest?

So far, yes, but certainly it is not the last one. The unique aspect of human birth is that one can realise the Divine inwardly. This is a unique possibility in human beings. But the Divine Power driving creation cannot stop with this. Sri Aurobindo specifically revealed that Man is a transitional being. Humanity is destined to evolve into a still higher species closer to the Divine, not only in the soul but also in the body. It will be a divine life in a divine body.

3) Why is the population increasing?

The animal souls are evolving into humans. This will still go on for some time until a new balance is set. Then Nature will find ways and means to restore the balance.

Affectinately,
