AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

What is the difference between meditation in Matrimandir, Auroville & in the Samadhi, not only in the Ashram’s Samadhi at Pondicherry, but also in any Centre of Sri Aurobindo’s Samadhi (Relics Shrine)? πŸ§˜πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸŒ„πŸͺ·[…]

When I meditated inside the Matrimandir, Auroville, I didn’t find that type of meditation experience that I find in the Ashram Samadhi or other Sri Aurobindo Centre Samadhi, where I could feel/experience the direct presence of the Mother and Sri Aurobindo.

Certainly, there is a difference. The Samadhi is the personal presence of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother. It is also located in the premises where Sri Aurobindo and The Mother did their tapasya. So it is an extremely charged place with the vibrations of the two Avatars.Β

Auroville is an occult manifestation of certain spiritual vibrations of the Divine Mother.Β It is a place of higher consciousness. Obviously, nothing can replace the direct personal touch of the Divine Mother that one gets at the Samadhi and, to an extent, at the Centres. Though in centres, an additional factor of faith is required to activate this presence, which at the Samadhi is naturally, easily, spontaneously felt and acts.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Sometimes, when I work as an Offering to the Divine, I expect nothing from it. But I feel that I do it with the motivation that when I work for the Divine, I will be purified and spiritually Progress. Is this a good motivation to have, or that becomes a desire too? πŸ«΄πŸΌπŸŒΌπŸ˜ŠπŸ™πŸΌπŸŒ·

It is not a desire but an aspiration which is perfectly valid. Desire springs from the vital and its purpose is aggrandisement or pleasure or an increase in quantity. Aspiration is for an improvement of quality in our instrumentalΒ  nature, for its progress and betterment for the Divine Work, even for outer things so that we
