AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Are the processes of Purification and Transformation the same thing? I have a little confusion. In the process of Purification, we face some adverse forces that are mentioned by Sri Aurobindo in the chapter ‘The difficulties of Transformation’. Are they the same? πŸ”₯πŸŒ„[…]

If I am right, then Purification depends on the Soul’s Aspiration. If one aspires to liberate the Soul from nature, then there is no need to go through the complete process of Purification, but if one can aspire for the liberation of nature, then they pass through all parts of the being as subconscient and inconscient. Is my understanding right? Can you elaborate on this?

Purification is the indispensable basis for liberation. It means removing the covering and coating of ignorance and falsehood that veils the true self. In the yoga seeking for mukti, the purification has to be less thorough. It is enough to bring some sattwic rectitude in nature, satwasanshuddhi. Transformation proper begins after liberation. It means the change of human nature into the divine Supernature. Liberation is with reference to the soul. Transformation is with reference to human nature and hence the purification required is much more thorough. Mere moral and ethical or Sattwic way of life will not do. The whole nature must accept and come under the Divine Influence.

Subconscient and Inconscient, manifesting through old ways of being, repetitive, habitual and mechanical patterns, the old animal ways are taken up in the process of liberation only if and to the extent they obstruct the way. Otherwise, one simply rises or sits above them. In transformation, the process has to be much more thorough-going.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Regarding the Four Aspects of the Mother, Alok da, I sense a parallel in Sri Aurobindo’s evaluation of various poets in which they excel and in which they lack. Poets like Keats have a lyrical sweetness and beauty but lack vital power and raw force, which a poet like Browning has. πŸ“œβœ’οΈπŸ˜ŠπŸ™πŸ»πŸͺ·[…]

Yes. Not only in poetry as you have rightly pointed out, but in everything, in the least atom and grain of sand one can see the working of the four aspects and the Knowledge and Power of the Divine Mother hidden behind it.Β ..

Today evening while meditating on mother’s organ music on fairy dance, firstly I saw a living mountain having two big eyes and it was seeing all around with those eyes and then a number appeared again and again in that vision it is a number 349 what does it’s means sir.

The living mountain is the physical consciousness under the influence of the Psychic aspiration. 349 perhaps means the 3 lower and 4 higher planes that are embedded or involved within the physical consciousness represented by number 9. The dream implies that your physical consciousness is open to the Divine Influence.
