AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER

Did Mother approve the Hindi translation of Savitri? 📘

In a letter to Prithwi Singh Nahar, The Mother clearly said that Savitri is untranslatable. People can translate it for their own personal joy, and one can also share this joy with others, but no translation can replace the original. It is the same with explanations on Savitri. They are the sharing of the joy of one’s insights or intuitive revelations on Savitri (or, for that matter, any of their works), but it cannot be a substitute for one’s own reading. At best, the translations (and explanations) can serve as an invitation to go to the original. It may help to connect through a familiar medium to the Source, but cannot ever replace it.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
