AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

How can I cultivate patience when things aren’t going my way๐Ÿ˜“? I recognize that my karma is at play, and I know I should chant prayers, but I’m struggling to find the patience within myself.

Patience is connected with faith in God and trust that the Divine Wisdom knows what is best for us. Desires cause restlessness and expectations. Surrender to the Divine brings peace.ย

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Dada, Thank you for giving your knowledge so generously, after being around Mother’s and Sri Aurobindo’s wisdom I feel guilty to ask and though I try to filter a lot of questions before asking but this one has been bothering for more than 2 years now. Dada I feel a sense of intense restlessness, while externally all seems fine, I don’t know when was the last time I really laughed. Its like I am definitely not doing what I am supposed to do while working, eating all times. Dada, I am nervous and restless but I dont know why am I feeling this way before I even get to the solution part. I cannot question my job and people around when its inside, how do I get rid of it. Dada I am so clueless that I even started started digging details of my birth chart, which I never really believed in. Please help/ dial your hotline to mother as to whats wrong with me ๐Ÿ”๐ŸŒ€๐Ÿ‘ฃ

It is a stage in human evolution and goes away as we progress further towards an impersonality. Certain exercises through guided Imagery on …

Many people say that people in India do not follow their traditions as strictly as they once did, and that there is growing resistance, especially among the younger generation, toward maintaining cultural practices. They often compare this with countries like China and Japan, where people are perceived to follow their cultural traditions more rigorously and preserve them with strong social discipline. According to this view, todayโ€™s generation is more distant from traditional customs than previous generations. Interestingly, this concern is most often expressed by people in their 30s and 40s ๐Ÿชท๐Ÿ•‰๏ธ๐Ÿ“œ

I am not sure about China and Japan of today. There is a general decline in culture everywhere and it is not without its purpose. The causes may be different, foremost of all being a pervading Western view of life and the instant gratification it brings. An insatiable vital hunger has been awakened, hunger for food, dress, pleasure of …

I saw a quote from Paramahansa Yogananda ji, where he said that God yearns for our love because that is the only thing that is not readily available for him. While I respect his words, I feel a bit confused because I have also heard that the Divine wants nothing (Bhagavad Gita). What is the truth behind this?๐Ÿน๐ŸŽ๐Ÿš

It is a little human way of putting it but there is a profound truth in it that has been corroborated by all the bhaktas. Sri Aurobindo himself has described this in quite a detail in chapters on the Mystery of Divine Love in the Synthesis of Yoga….
