AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I again seek your views on the following passage of the book – Shakti Mantras: Tapping Into the Great Goddess Energy Within by Thomas Ashley-Farrand ๐Ÿค”

QUOTE

I would like to return here to an idea presented in an earlier part of this book, namely the idea of a feminine power cell that sits at the base of the human spine in the Muladhara chakra. Seeming to sleep and without using even a hundred-thousandth part of the energy dormant within her, She provides all the power for lifeโ€™s activities, both autonomic and conscious. Often called simply Divine Mother, it is our shakti that releases within us the energy and influence of the planets in our lives as recorded in our astrological chart. Like a cosmic engine, those orbs circulate in the solar system, interact with one another, and send out their multiple vibrations. As these subtle vibrations strike our bodies at birth and then continuously throughout our lives, it is our shakti that activates their power within, causing events and circumstances to whirl around us as occurrences in daily life.ย

It is also our shakti that causes great waves of thought and emotion to manifest as our samsaras, those mental and emotional tendencies with which we enter life. And it is she who knows how long the span of a given incarnation will last. Desiring more time to complete his work, it was Divine Mother whom Paramahansa Yogananda entreated, sensing the end of his life drawing near. He desired just a few more years to finish his lifeโ€™s work, and it was Divine Mother, his actively powerful benevolent shakti, who granted his wish.

UNQUOTE

The influence of planets and all other forces of destiny is ultimately governed by the Divine Mother. Ordinarily however, in her state of sleep, She governs it largely through the forces of Nature and Her lesser manifestations. But once awake the individual is no more under the ordinary forces of destiny. His life is then governed more and more by the Divine Mother’s Will who can override everything. The cosmic forces of Fate then adjust automatically to the Will in Her and change even the most rigidly fixed fate.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Listening to your talks, I wonder if humanityโ€™s current psychological turmoil stems from the pressure of the Supramental descent forcing hostile vital forces to cling more desperately to earthโ€”much like Arjunaโ€™s Visada Yoga at the start of his transformation. ๐Ÿค”๐ŸŒ๐Ÿซจ๐ŸŒพ[…]

If one were to summarise it in one sentence then one can say, in the deepest mystic sense, that the world has forgotten the Divine and suffers because of that. Instead, the average human being has not only turned away…

It will depend upon the mantra as well as the wish, desire or aspiration, as it may be, in the heart of the sadhak. There are mantras that do grant material happiness as well as wisdom. So it is perfectly possible to get these benefits through specific mantras. At the …

Respected Alok da, when you realised Maa is everything and in everything. Then, if you go for Puja Rituals like Brata-Upabasha according to Hindu Dharma (you see Mother in every Gods), then is that insincerity to Maa? Should I do it or not? ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ›•๐ŸŒธ

As far as I am concerned everything else dropped naturally, effortlessly. I was anyways not much into rituals and knew that many of these things are aadambar and have little to do with Hindu Dharma. Neither the Gita nor the…
