AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

My husband comes from a very orthodox family, and to be honest, he often humiliates me for not pronouncing Sanskrit shlokas correctly. He teases me, saying that I am not from a Brahmin family. I’m in an environment where respect seems to be granted only when I earn. Although I didn’t leave my job intentionally, I was laid off. How should I respond or pray in these circumstances😥? I’ve been communicating with the Mother about this regularly, but I haven’t seen any results.

You should know that those who are truly wise and developed are humble.  Whereas those who are proud are merely vain. So you needn’t attach much importance to what your husband thinks of you. What should matter for a spiritual aspirant is closeness to the Divine and for that, aspiration, faith,  sincerity, surrender matter rather than the knowledge of Sanskrit and the Scriptures.  The Ramayana and the Mahabharata are testimony to this truth as is evidenced in the life of all who realised the Divine.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
