AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER

At times (in Aurobindo’s early poetry) there are flashes of a mysterious woman, an unidentified lady, not dark but cosmic…Who was the lady before the eyes of the passionate teenage scholar? Biographers have failed in their research. ”Ghosal, ‘Aurobindo’s Poetry’ Came across someone posting this, any inputs into who this mysterious figure is? Is this something symbolic/spiritual or a literal person🤔?

Sri Aurobindo was very much identified with Kali in the early part of his life. He has described her in several places in his poetry and writings and at one point even signed off his letters as Kali. She is evidently none other than Kali aspect of the Divine Mother.
