AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

You mentioned in videos that the Divine can’t give a person punishment or grief in life to make him suffer so that the person becomes better, because that is not a viable definition of God. God, as kind as He is, won’t inflict suffering on anyone, nor will He be happy to see someone going through ordeals. πŸ™„πŸ¦‹πŸͺ»βœ¨[…]

However, in a few of the videos you mentioned that, when someone is close to the Divine, us insaan ke saath cheena jhapti chalu ho jayegi, i.e. they will start losing what they have. Also, you mentioned that the Divine will take their list of desires and then tear that sheet down and say you will come to me. But won’t the latter cause pain and suffering to the human? Isn’t this some sort of punishment?Β

Yes, it is quite correct and seems contradictory. But if you see closely, the Divine tears the list of desires because He has better things to give you. In fact, He does it only to souls that have grown close to Him or are being made ready for a special work. It is these who undergo the most difficult and thorough training so that, having gone through the purifying ordeal, they can be moulded into jewels to adorn Him and steel for His sword. But for others who are still in the elementary stages of their earthly evolution, He lets them have their way in the bazaar of desires until they realise the bitter aftertaste of the sweets they were drawn to. It is a schooling and a learning through which we grow and not a reward and punishment by a stern judge, the methods of a wise and patient teacher and not the arbitrary rules of a tyrant king. There is a little more detailed answer to this being put up on the website today. What is however important is to remember that much of suffering is not due to an act of the cosmic forces but due to wrong attachment to things that are temporary that we value over the Permanent, wrong understanding of the meaning and purpose of our life, wrong attitude in our dealing with the challenges of life and wrong relation with people and the world and its creatures.Β

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Dada, there is a professor at IISC who is a sadhaka in the sampradaya of Madhvacharya, and he says that, according to him, the way to find your Swadharma is to do what you can persistently despite failure. I want to ask, is this a good way of practically knowing, or is it too reductionist? And according to you, what can be the best practical way for a young child?πŸ§’πŸ“šβœ¨πŸŒ±

That is one way of looking at it. But a slightly negative and outer way of looking at it. There are plenty of things we do which do not involve success or failure. We do it because we find a natural joy in it. This spontaneous joy …

Is drinking small quantities of alcohol really that bad? Most people I know consume alcohol in some measure. I noticed that the ones who quit it completely face backlash from Society. For example, I heard business people say that you can’t trust a person who doesn’t drink. πŸ₯‚πŸ’¬πŸΈπŸŽΆ[…]

It is not a question of good or bad from a moral point of view. But drinking alcohol is certainly harmful for the physical, as well as psychological and I would even say spiritual health. The list of physical problems is too long and generally too well known to elucidate. …

Initially, I feel Peace, Bliss and Delight up to the Vishudhi Centre. Suddenly realised that my heart has received The Mother’s Peace and is spreading to all the centre of my all the inner parts and similar to the mother light also. Suddenly feel that the heart centre is doing everything. Alok da, is our Sadhana going in the right direction? Please guide me. πŸͺ·βœ¨πŸ’–πŸ•―️

Yes absolutely, the psychic being is behind the heart centre and when open and in the front then all becomes easy and natural.Β
