I had prayed mother and Sri Aurobindo for same, and they gave it to me and now I’m like telling them you had already known this situation will hurt me badly then why did they give me.. And now i need some light from Maa …
The Divine sometimes gives us what we desire so that we may learn from it. However very often things come to us from concealed desires. The Divine lets them happen even though desires never give lasting happiness so that we may learn the lesson and outgrow them. But most often we get attached to our misery and suffering as a person watching a movie starts experiencing the pleasures and pain but refuses to get up and walk out even though he can. Situations and circumstances are like scenes we encounter in the film of our life with varied plots and characters. If we look deep within and with sincerity we shall see that somewhere we have written its script, of course in ignorance, hence not knowing what may come out of the story we are writing. When the results are contrary to what we wanted to see then there is this suffering and pain. Here again if we look closely we shall see that the suffering is a response we give out of habit. We can give other responses, for example detachment, indifference, surrender to the Divine Will, learning something about ourselves, the world and people, facing things with courage, taking the challenge and facing it truthfully and honestly, practicing truth and equanimity, getting rid of desires and expectations, and many others. Suffering comes when we want things in a certain way and wish they happened like that. But destiny does not meet our demands and expectations making us unhappy. But the forces of destiny and God never act keeping our ego-self in the centre and to make us happy. It may be so when we are in the infancy of our soul when God gives us toys to please and amuse ourselves. But as we grow towards the soul’s adulthood, life meets us with challenges. These are often like the jigsaw pieces of a puzzle so that we can solve and grow.
These solutions lie within us. It consists mainly in turning our attention within to find our own true goals, what we truly want from life and giving ourselves to it sincerely turning indifferent to everything else.
Affectionately,
Alok Da
