AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Jay Maa, I have been reading Savitri for last few years, recently I heard that people also write passages from Savitri daily as a part of their Sadhana. Can you please explain about how it has different effect than reading Savitri?πŸ“œπŸ€πŸ•ŠοΈβ˜€οΈ

Reading silently, reading aloud, hearing, writing are all different forms of connecting involving different pathways in the body and workings of our consciousness. Hearing is passive reception but it spreads in the environment, especially if one hears in the Mother’s voice. Reading aloud oneself does something similar. Reading silently helps the consciousness move inwards. Writing is a dynamic process and involves eyes, ears as well as hands, karmendriya. So it is comprehensive. But it is naturally slow in terms of completing Savitri.

Best is to combine these. Keep a time exclusively for reading when you can quietly read silently and meditate upon the lines. When situation permits read it aloud. Apart from that you can keep a specific time, may be few minutes to write a passage or few lines that strike a deep chord.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
