AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

As I am studying Katha Upanishad, (still only on 11th Mantra), couple of questions came to my mind, Does Sri Aurobindo and Mataji believe in Vedic (e.g rituals, Karmakand) or Vedantic philosophy? And I am having trouble with the concept of Tatvam Asi and yet going to Swarg. If everything is in me, why is Swarg separate🤔?

Sri Aurobindo did not discard Karmkand but bypasses it. His starting point is the Vedantic philosophy that there is One Reality behind all appearances.  He does accept the reality of the gods but gives them a wider function than what we understand today.

Tatvam asi is the complimentary truth of aham brahmasmi. It means that not only I am Brahman but you too are Brahman.  As to Swarg it is a deformation of Swar loka.  Swar loka is the plane of intuitive light formed by the sun of Truth. It is in the higher planes of Mind just short of the ultimate Reality.  Swarg loka is the peak of the vital world,  the paradise of Semitic religions where the souls of the virtuous go. These worlds are within and without,  outside as planes of consciousness with beings and energies and forces appropriate to the plane, within as states of consciousness to which we may awaken and enter and in which we may dwell.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Dada, why do bad things happen to good people? Like, if you are involved in the process of making black money, then you will make more and more, while those who are sincere towards their work and don’t engage in unethical practices tend to make far less money after lots of hard work. 😥💰💔🦋[…]

First of all we must be sure what really is a bad thing. Earning money by dark means is to lose contact with your soul. That is straight road to self destruction. Giving true love to anyone increases the force of love in you. Increase of the energy of love gives natural spontaneous joy. It is not the love that you receive from others that
