AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Earth followed the endless journey of the sun, can you please explain this?

Physically it is a description of the earth moving around the sun through the changing of seasons. At the end of the three seasons Savitri will be born.

Sri Aurobindo uses this image describing the physical event as a beautiful symbol of the earth consciousness seeking to touch the sun and yet fearful of it. She is impelled to move by this desire for the delight, the rapture hidden in her bosom awaiting to be delivered. Maenad is the frenzied female follower (here describing the earth) of Bacchus (Roman God of ecstasy).

The three seasons also are linked in a significance suggestive of the preparation needed for earth (and man) the delivering the Godhead within. Summer is effort, Rain is purification, Autumn and winter is self reflection and interiorisation. Spring is the new blossoming or the new birth when Savitri is born (same as the Divine Mother).

Affectionately,

Alok da.

Dada, why do bad things happen to good people? Like, if you are involved in the process of making black money, then you will make more and more, while those who are sincere towards their work and don’t engage in unethical practices tend to make far less money after lots of hard work. 😥💰💔🦋[…]
