He believes that when Sri Ram was leaving Sage Bharadwaj’s ashram, a silent, spiritually exalted being came to meet Him, yet Tulsidas did not recognize him. This being was a devotee of Ram.
Sri Ram embraced him. According to the gentleman who released the video, that being was none other than Sri Aurobindo! The full chaupai is as follows:
Tehi avasar ek tāpasu āvā.
Teja punja laghubayasa suhāvā.
Kabi alakhita gati besu birāgī.
Mana krama bachana Rāma anurāgī.
Rāma saprema pulaki ura lāvā.
Parama ranka janu pārasu pāvā.
(Sri Ramcharitmanas – Ayodhya Kanda, p. 226)
Generally, the presence of The Mother and Sri Aurobindo exists behind the scenes during the time of every Avatar. Terms like Teja-punja (an embodiment of radiance), Mauni (silent), and Ram-anuragi (devotee of Ram) offer a glimpse that somewhat evokes the image of Sri Aurobindo. My heart tells me it was indeed Sri Aurobindo, yet my mind harbors some doubt. My sister suggested I ask Alok-da, as you are well-versed in this subject. Please provide some clarity.
In the love and light of The Mother.
In all likelihood, Sri Aurobindo was present during the time of Sri Rama. He was there as Rishi Agastya, who had handed over certain celestial weapons to Sri Rama and then himself entered into seclusion to help Sri Rama in the war with his vast occult knowledge and powers. It is likely that Tulsidas ji had his vision being a Rambhakt. But it cannot be ascertained with certainty.
Affectionately,
Alok Da
