AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

“…you carry in yourself all the obstacles necessary to make your realization perfect. Always you will see that within you the shadow and the light are equal: you have an ability, you also have the negation of this ability. But, if you discover a very black hole, a thick shadow, be sure that somewhere in you there is a great light. It is up to you to know how to use the one to realize the other.”― The Mother. So how with our ordinary and inner being we do this? What does this mean? …. As this is so important I feel so…..dada you speak about it please🧱🧗🚧

When one starts the spiritual journey there are quite a number of movements in one’s nature that contradict the journey such as doubts, fears, vanity, anger, ambition, sex etc. As one proceeds further some are left behind relatively easily but one particular movement resists. It obstinately refuses to change, holding on to its right to delay the journey almost indefinitely, pulling us down again and again from the advance.

However if one takes a close look one discovers that at its core there is a divine possibility, say of love, that turns into its shadow, lust or attachments, because it is the ego and desire self that usurp and distort it.

One has to then increase the true movement and reject the distortion. It is somewhat like fear (of various kinds as we see in Arjuna) in the kshatriya warrior. One needs to conquer it to fulfil his purpose and advance upon his path. Other examples are greed or avarice in a generous person, ambition in the servant of God.

One needs to detect in the light of a growing sincerity, reject with a persistent will and offer up these movements

Affectionately,

Alok Da
