AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Mother mentions ‘equality does not mean indifference’. Please explain how to differentiate between equality and indifference.⚖️🟰🤝🫶

Indifference is useful to develop equality. It is a tool, one of the processes, not equality itself. Indifference helps us not to react to the surface appearances and outer events, circumstances and people as they appear to our ignorant vision. But it does not give us the truth that these appearances hide. Nor does it give us any clue about the right law of action in our dealing with people and circumstances.

Equality, on the other hand is looking at things unaffected by the ego and its play of dualities. It is the response of the inner being and the soul that looks at things with the right perception and true understanding without being affected by them in any way.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
