AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Why do I feel like I’m failing every day when doing Yoga?

Yoga does not necessarily move in an uninterrupted straight line. Some days you will progress very far, and other days you will progress very slowly. There are days when you may feel like you’re only meeting resistance, and some days it seems like you’re taking a step backwards. All this happens because we are composed of many parts, some that support the movement of Yoga, others that are indifferent and do not want the yoga, still others that resist the aspiration for the yoga. The important thing is to never give up, keep faith through all the ups and downs, endure and surrender and continue to aspire,  Keep your inner humour alive and keep going.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

My Mother has had a very tough life after marriage and she was tortured physically and mentally by her husband. She does not believe in Mother and Sri Aurobindo. Lately, she has made herself bedridden and refuses to go anywhere. She has also developed symptoms of fits etc. like neck jerking. What should I do to make her come to senses?

What you experiencing is not love but a kind of obsession wherein the image of the person is coming to the mind again and again. Love is something different. It is the urge to give oneself, to care, to do something for the person. It is not want but giving that is the hallmark of love.

Thinking about someone or loving someone is not going against The Mother. The Mother does not want that we don’t love anyone. It is just that human love is based so much and so often on the ego that very soon it turns…

What you seemed to have is not so much a past life experience but rather an entry into another dimension of existence due to the intense exercise. It is another Time Space continuum you seem to have entered belonging to another plane of existence. It shows an innate ability for your consciousness to project out of the body and enter …
