AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I am curious to understand the process of a child’s psyche — how and when it begins to develop. I am currently 8 weeks pregnant. How can I support my child during this journey? Also, how can I approach this as a Sadhana? 😊🙏🏻🌻🤱🏼👼🏼[…]

Does the Soul choose the parents, or do the parents choose the child?

The psyche of a child begins to be influenced by the mother right from the point of conception. It is the point of intention that creates a kind of atmosphere around the mother to which the soul gets drawn. This intention further begins to shape the baby in the womb so that the child begins to develop almost as an extension of the parents, especially their unfulfilled wishes, hopes, desires, tendencies, etc. This continues during childhood until adolescence, when children generally revolt, giving a chance to change and reorient their tracks.

In simple words, at this stage and for long afterwards, your thoughts, feelings, hopes, ambitions, experiences,  aspirations, frustrations, anguish, ambitions, anxieties, etc., are getting transmitted into the child as a subtle substance and moulding the child apart and along with the heredity and genetics that mould his body. The things you experience inwardly, the books you read, the people you meet, the interactions you have, in short, all that you go through is also becoming part of the child’s endowment as he extends in you and shares the same body.

It is a great responsibility, therefore, to be a mother. Now it is upto you how you use this knowledge and turn it into practical aspects of parenting. This is the key. It means read good uplifting books, spend time in beautiful contemplation, beautiful music. Talk to the child. He is listening in the womb.

As to the mother and the child, each other, while the baby is in the womb and getting formed, there is a truth in it. Your atmosphere will draw a soul type by affinity and it will also mould the nature of the child. Equally developed souls do choose their parents by a certain kind of affinity of soul aspiration and the kind of experiences the soul wants to go through. You can, of course, consciously pray for a child or even imagine his being, physically and psychologically. It does help.

The subject itself is very vast and you will find talks by the Mother on this subject in Volume 12 of her collected works. You will also find several talks on auromaa.org on the issue of parenting. If you have specific questions, I will be happy to answer.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Dada, I asked you a few days ago that my every friend is being removed from my life, not that we are fighting or something, but they either get married or they shift to other place. You replied that Mother is preparing me for a big change and new friends with same aspiration will come to me. But Dada, when? 🌱🕊️ […]

Actually you have yourself answered it. There is something in you that seeks the Divine but there are parts of nature that refuse. The ‘loneliness’ has been provided so that you can make a conscious choice. The dryness of which you speak is only a passage but …

After coming to the center, Mother is fulfilling all of my aspirations like to be a part of the sadhaks, getting chance to clean the place near Samadhi, plucking flower for Mother etc. But my dipper and at present most aspired thing is to Live In her Presence. 🙏🏻🌼 […]

I am glad you have the opportunity to serve Her in the center. It is indeed a privilege and a Grace to be able to serve the Divine in anyway and anywhere.

Regarding your question about the sadhaks and their nature or the extent of their realisation, all that I would say is that it is best not to let the mind run in that direction as it is harmful for our progress. First of all we are not equipped to see let alone judge what is happening inside others. All our judgments have little meaning in our…

As I look within me, there is one part which is luminous, wants the Divine and at the same time there is this another dark part which is creating so much trouble. Sometimes thoughts linger on desires and ambition and I consciously pull them back; sometimes past wrong tendencies come up. 🪷🙏🏻 […]

This division is in everybody. It is by sadhana that one becomes one-pointed. It takes long time. Faith, sincerity, aspiration and surrender hastens the process. Depression, guilt, doubts, frustration make the process more complicated and longer….
