AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

What do you feel about Indian weddings of late and their current event concepts? About hype creation on Instagram? The stress in jewellery, clothes, photoshoots and food. Does that engage the quality of your life and love, or only for social status and talk in society? πŸ€΅πŸΌπŸ‘°πŸΌπŸ’’πŸ’πŸ’Ž

They are not weddings but bride and bridegroom sales. I find them quite repulsive with all the show, hypocrisy, artificiality and attempt to impress others with dress, jewellery and all the rest, not to speak of the flow of alcohol and rich food and all that nauseating stuff. I am quite averse to it as it feels like a whole world of artificiality, showoff and falsehood. In general, I find modern marriages simply a display of hypocrisy.Β

But that is my impression. Others are free to have their own. Some enjoy quietude and the taste of lotus honey. Others enjoy the smell of smoke and noise and jing bang. To each his own paradise.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
