AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER

If the soul becomes the Psychic being after it grows into a divine possibility, does that mean it has reached the highest divine consciousness? 🪷✨ […]

We progress towards becoming a psychic being by getting rid of the ego self, was my understanding. But I have heard in your talks that we should ask Mother to help us make the psychic being lead us and not the ego self?

How should we understand what it means for the psychic being to lead us (if that is the finality of the individual soul)and let go of the ego as the process for progress?

The soul fully blossoming into a psychic being, fulfilling its divine possibility, is indeed the first peak, the highest point for the individual consciousness to reach. But the mysteries of the Divine do not cease with it. In fact, the real delight of the play begins with that since now, after the identification with the psychic being, we are playing the great game of creation consciously, taking in the full delight of existence. Once we identify with the psychic being, we are always with the Divine, who otherwise seemed so far, distant, difficult. We see the world with Her eyes, act with Her Force and experience Her Love and Delight always in everything.

But this is the highest that an individual can grow into. If one wishes, one could stay in this delightful freedom forever. But it is possible to extend this realisation into a vast universal Self, the Cosmic Divine. One can then grow in Impersonality and Peace, engaged in universal good, in a wider Cosmic work, helping all creatures, taking in their joys and griefs as one’s own. One begins to truly help in the larger work, the collective march of mankind.

Finally there is the experience and realisation of the Transcendent Divine beyond the individual and the universal, beyond all conceptions and perceptions, beyond form and the formless, in His original Splendour and Glory.

The psychic being is the master key, the nearest door, the easiest access that makes all else easy and simple.

The ego is only a makeshift arrangement, a temporary shelter given by Nature to defend us against the cosmic immensity. When we discover and identify with the psychic being, then we do not need this imperfect temporary ego structure. We begin to dwell in the Divine, who then takes charge of our life directly, completely. The shed of the ego then lies abandoned as a reminder of the past and is slowly dismantled and dissolved by itself. What we need is to turn more and more to the Divine Mother with sincerity and all else is done in the course of time.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Sir, we know that Sri Krishna descended into the physical body of Sri Aurobindo. Which Overmental God descended into the body of the Mother? 🙏🏻✨

She already had her identification with the Divine Mother, the Mother of the gods. That had happened already in 1914 as you will see in Her prayers of September 1914. Sri Aurobindo had also recognised it long back. It was because of this identification that She could bring down the gods in the Ashram atmosphere and in the consciousness of the disciples. It was due to her tapasya that Sri krishna accepted to bind himself with Sri Aurobindo’s being.

For us Westerners, it is sometimes difficult to arrive at a clear understanding of the steps involved in this yoga, because certain terms carry different meanings in a Western context. 🧭🪷[…]

Yes I understand that. There is a difficulty with the Indian mind also because we are accustomed to a certain spiritual outlook that often misses many intermediary links that connect the spiritual and the material.

These links serve as various roads and bridges or else as roadblocks, obstacles to our spiritual journey. In simple words our nature, meaning thereby our thoughts, feelings, impulses, motives, passions, desires, the entire range…
