AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Is establishing inner peace and equanimity the same as developing the sakshi (silent witness), or should one simply turn one’s consciousness entirely towards the Mother? I often feel connected to Her, but when I am doing well, I tend to get swept away by the mere sensation of “feeling better” rather than remaining anchored in Her presence. How can I steady this inward focus and build a true foundation of peace? 🕊️🪷🙏🏻

Sakshi is not peace, though it helps tremendously in getting rid of all the disturbances that afflict our nature. It is usually a part of the mind that separates itself from the other elements of nature. Later, it can deepen into a deeper soul-state. It helps in preparing the ground for peace and equanimity. Peace is a positive experience taking place in the fields of nature.  Equanimity is the poise of the soul that remains undisturbed by the impacts of the world. All these are good and helpful. But turning to the Mother, opening oneself to Her, faith and love for Her is the key.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

In all mystic traditions, money has been generally regarded, not only as a bondage, but even as a curse. It ties the consciousness to very gross material pleasures. These weigh down the soul and makes the intelligence rather dull to subtler and spiritual things.
