I also wonder how to reconcile sadhana with an aspiration for material prosperity and harmonious beauty, seeing in them the outer expressions of Mahalakshmi and Mahasaraswati. Seeking the right attitude, I would be grateful for your guidance on how Sri Aurobindo views harmonizing these outer aspirations with true inner growth.

Trust me, most people if not everybody, feel or believe that the Mother pampers them. It is difficult to say how much of a role our concealed desires and ambitions play in it and how much is The Mother’s doing. Nevertheless, it is a personal relation between each one and The Mother.

What is important is whether and how much we are living as the Mother would want us to live and be. I think it is always good and helpful to read Her writings to remind ourselves as to how we should live and be so as to be in tune with Her Will and respond rightly to Her Love and Grace.
