If one believes, then these things might affect us. If one is truly a devotee, he would be fearless and would not care about these forces such as Vastudosha. So if one is still afraid or worried about these things, then one is not really a devotee, though claiming to be one. And in that case, and to the extent that one believes in these things and thinks about these things, one opens to them and their influence. The Divine is way beyond these things and if one has faith and true surrender, then nothing can touch or harm.
