The question one has to ask is not whether one should do this or that but why does one want to do it. If one feels naturally inclined towards the work and feels it more in tune with one’s inner self, one should undertake it regardless of success or failure. Also if one feels that the work will provide more time and better conditions to pursue the quest for the Divine. As long as we are turning towards the Divine for guidance with the idea of success or preferences we will not receive it or else we will mistake the suggestions of the ego and prompting of the desire as the true guidance. The error here is to believe that the Divine guidance is to ensure success in our undertakings and a green flag means success. But the Divine is much more concerned with our progress than success. If we too get interested in progress and seek the guidance keeping our progress in the centre then the guidance will come.Â
