AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I am in love with a girl, she said no to the proposal. I said her that I will wait for her. I get attracted towards other girls also but I don’t get the feeling. What should I do😪?

It is an impossible condition to fulfill. To wait when two people are in mutual love is fine but to wait when there is a No from the other side is not the right thing to do. It will put a subtle pressure on the girl and if she succumbs to it, the love is unlikely to last since it won’t be natural from her side. If she persists in the refusal, as is most likely, then either you will get attracted towards other girls or else the energy of love will get stifled and stagnant with the danger of it turning into something dark. Love between two human beings has to be mutual. One-sided love often ends badly and it is best to move on trusting destiny rather than continue with unreciprocated feelings.

As to attraction it is a normal play of Nature. It ceases temporarily after marriage due to the satisfaction of the sexual impulse and a release of emotions and passions though it tends to surge again especially if the vital passions are too strong and the marriage is unhappy one. It diminishes if one is creatively occupied. It ceases only when one has found the Divine.

It doesn’t bother me that she doesn’t love me, I can still love her but i don’t want her to be in pain because of me. Is moving on is the best thing to do?

If she means what she says, that is to say if her no is genuine then there is no reason why she should be in pain. Even if it is a half hearted no, it is best not to pursue. As it has been said and rightly so that if you love someone set them free. If they are meant to be with you they will come back. This freedom is very necessary for love to blossom. If she really loves you she must have the courage to say so.

You had said in the previous mail that all modes of nature tamas, sattwa and rajas are useful. But I am unable to understand how tamas is useful for a human being. 🌿⚖️🔥

Tamas pulls back the Rajas when it goes overboard. It is what induces in creation the urge for rest and sleep without which there would be, for most human beings, a breakdown due to the overrunning and over excitement of the system. After all the entire animal world is maintained by the balance between the force of rajas and ..

I had a dark, unsettling dream where I was traveling through dense woods, attacked by a hostile woman, and surrounded by stampeding, giant beast-like creatures. Amid this ominous gloom—broken only by a brief glimpse of the rising morning star heralding dawn—I found myself fiercely shielding an innocent young boy from these crude, predatory giants who had shapeshifted into ordinary men. 🌙🛡️⭐[…]

The dream is once again indicative of certain inner movements. The child is your soul and the dense forest is the lower vital regions strongly under the influence of dark subconscious forces. The horse is your life energy, the vital being struggling to rescue the child. Meeting these giants in human forms is again the deceptive forces of …

The first thing to do is to ignore all that does not concern us and the work. One should be completely indifferent to what people are or do, let alone what they may be thinking and feeling. By letting our mind enter into thoughts about what they are or might be thinking, we get unwittingly identified with them. For there is in us …
